Web games on the Curious George website encourage the development of counting skills. Curious george is a pretty helpful little monkey! Children who love hearing the Curious George stories at bedtime soon pick the books up on their own to decipher the words for themselves.
The original Curious George book was issued in 1941. Six additional books by the original authors were released periodically until 1966; these seven titles comprise the group of Curious George books referred to as the "Original Adventures." A second series of books, edited by the survivor of the two original authors, were issued between 1984 and 1993. A third series, the "Third Adventures," began in 1998 and continues to this day.
Were you aware that Curious George is also a television and movie star? Curious George television films, circa 1980 and later, actually formed the basis for the Third Adventures book series. George's latest television incarnation comes thanks to the Public Broadcasting System, which debuted its new Curious George series on the PBS Kids network. Currently, Curious George also stars in his own video game, two movies and a play land at Universal Studios Florida.
